The authors experienced 3 cases of malignant histiocytosis and we reviewed 13
another cases already reported in Korea.
The results are summerized as follows:
1. Eleven out of sixteen cases were male with average age of 25, and male to female
ratio was 2.2: 1.
2. Most of the cases disclosed clinical manifestations of high fever (93%), general
weakness(93%), weight loss(44%), hepatosplenomegaly(95%), purpura(70%), lympha-
denopathy(50%) and jaudice (50%) .
3. The hematologic findings showed anemia(88%), leukopenia(82%), thrombocyto-
Penia(82%), abnormal monocyte(38%), and erythrophagocytosis(12,5%).
4. The abnormal histiocytic infiltration were obserbed in the organ of bone marrow
(82%), liver(43.7%), lymph node(25%), nasal turbinate(6.25%) and skin nodule (6.25%).
5. The range of survival was 10 to 283 days and the mean survival was 98 days.
